Systems note
The text
from the magazine article: "At Carlson, president and
CEO Gary Gettle points to the success of the company’s
business model, which he describes as, “field-managed,
not a top-down organization…It’s a very decentralized
management model.” He remains upbeat about the future.
“We see opportunities to continue to grow in the marketplace,”
he says, “and we continue to focus on gaining market
share.” For Carlson, the Internet is more of “a
convenience tool,” he explains. “It’s not
had a dramatic impact on our business. People still want to
see somebody sitting across the desk from them.” Earlier
this year, Carlson bought Mid-Atlantic Fasteners, expanding
its reach to the Eastern U.S."
